This is WW1 stuff, and the first rifle, I find, is pretty amazing to watch all theaction motions happening. Gives appreciation to engineers and designers and the limits of what they had to work with.

I went down an internet rathole recently on how a modern mini-gun actually detaches and loads a round in a concentric mechanism that winds onto itself like a snail. Amazing it works reliably at high speeds— and even more amazing that it’s based on concepts that were first suggested 100 years ago.
From an engineering standpoint, it’s fascinating stuff.

C&r arsenal is such an in depth and informative channel. I love watching them and Forgotten Weapons.
